Undergraduate #55
Discipline: Computer Sciences and Information Management
Subcategory: Physiology and Health

Diliorah Arah - Bowie State University

With the innovation we have today, life has turned out to be generously less demanding for everyday living. Communicating and associating with individuals has never been less difficult, however with the innovative advances we are likewise ready to do things, for example, being guided by use of GPS, checking the news, using social media and checking your bank account. With these conceivable outcomes effectively settled, cell phone users ought to likewise be given the ability to have applications where they can advance wellbeing and look after wellness. Our hypothesis is that the proposed wellness application will increase work productivity and fitness in the work environment through the use of different exercises. With regards to the medicinal/healthcare field, there have been numerous applications made to advance living better. Applications like Adidas Train & Run where you can outline runs and track your activity all while being motivated to do as such. This proposed application gives the user a specific activities to keep them active while in the work environment. The user’s certifications are entered at the beginning of your app. The qualifications include: gender, age, work status, work type, height, weight and any medicinal problems. Once the user has completed the activity for the day, user information is put in a cloud database and saved. We have utilized MIT App Inventor to build up this wellness application for Android devices. One element of this application we are attempting to seek after is having the ability of having to see the improvement of associates who are additionally utilizing this application, almost like a social media app, to maintain and improve fitness at work. In conclusion, we trust and believe that this proposed application will help in keeping individuals fit and gainful in the work environment. Future work will include conducting user studies for the mobile application after getting the IRB approval.
