A rain gauge also called a pluviometer or udometer is an instrument that collects rainfall for different purposes. A rain gauge was disposed at Virginia Union University together with a temperature sensor. In this research we look at the correlation between rainfall and temperature for weather prediction purposes. Comparison was done with underground data. Analysis shows consistency in the temperature data but some differences in the rainfall that can be explained by the differences in distance. Other analyses are ongoing. Comparison with satellite data will be also done in the future to understand and explain changes in the climate.
