A series of new open chain complexes, CpTi [S2P(OR)2]3 (where R) Et, n-Pr, i-Pr, Bui, Ph) have been prepared by the drop wise addition of the appropriate O, O’-dialkyl dithiophosphoric acid to cycopentadienyl titanium trichloride in 1:3 molar ratio and re-fluxed in benzene solution. The new compounds were characterized by molecular weight measurements, elemental analysis, and spectroscopic studies (1H, 13C, and 31P NMR, and infrared). We suggest a distorted tetrahedron structure of these new complexes and the dithioligand behaves as a bidentate ligand.
