Volcano eruption is a very dangerous place and it destroys huge amount of things with the heat being emitted from it. Knowing in advance when and what kind of eruptions will occur is the key to prevent catastrophic disasters. Volcanologists use different kinds of tools to detect and measure ground deformation. One of these tools is drones, which can help volcanologists keep closer tabs on the dangerous geologic features. Drones are used for multiple applications in various occasions, it is categorized into three types; Fixed-wing, single rotor, and multi-rotor. Multirotors can be further classified based on the number of rotors on the aerial platform. After looking at different types of drones, it has been concluded that quadcopters are better suited for monitoring volcano eruptions because they are stable and can maintain a steady position for as long as needed. Each quadcopter is made different and comes with its design and key features. Some come with cameras that help take pictures of all sorts of things in the sky. The Quadcopter used for monitoring volcano eruption should have a communication module that helps to transmit images or videos from a long distance, RFID reader to detect objects, high definition cameras to capture pictures and videos, air quality and gas sensor measures the air pollution, and the thermal camera which can be used through darkness or smoke and also at heat zones by using infracted radiation. The focus of this project is to examine the drone suitable for monitoring volcano eruption by the means of camera and gasoline/ temperature.
