AAAS and our local partners in Washington, D.C. are continuing to monitor developments with the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV). At present, our venue, the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, is operating normally with no additional precautions. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has activated its Quarantine Station at Dulles International Airport, one of 20 such stations that exist at the nation’s busiest ports of entry. Officials continue to monitor incoming passengers for signs of illness. Please know that any changes to federal, state, or local protocols for the D.C. area will be reported to us immediately, and we will comply with any such directives. The CDC’s website on novel coronavirus is an excellent source of up-to-the-minute information.
AAAS is committed to providing a productive meeting that fosters open dialogue and exchange of scientific ideas. We are working with our partners in D.C to take every precaution and ensure a safe environment for our community to convene. Updated information will be posted to as it becomes available.
