Preparing an Industry-focused Resume

The demand for STEM-capable employees is higher than ever. In an ever-changing workplace environment, it is critical for STEM majors and recent graduates to create and maintain an excellent resume that will communicate and leverage their skills and experience. There are multiple industries that employ STEM talent such as the pharmaceuticals, healthcare, technology, food and drug, and chemical industries. The Resume Preparation webinar will provide tips, advice and strategies on how to craft an excellent and effective resume for undergraduate and graduate STEM majors, as well as, early STEM professionals.

The webinar will focus on preparing a resume for industry-related opportunities that include:

  • Employment
  • Internships
  • Scholarships and Fellowships
  • Research opportunities

Tips and strategies covered will assist participants with highlighting their STEM expertise, background and skills, and communicating the most relevant information. Participants will be prepared to write a winning resume that will aid them in their educational and career goals.

Marquita M. Qualls, PhD is a chemist by training, but a true leader at heart. With over 25 years of leadership experience in consulting, coaching, and motivating people in a range of leadership and professional development areas, Dr. Qualls possesses the rare combination of strong technical ability and impressive soft skills. As a scientist, she has a gift for listening to what’s not being said and asking probing questions to arrive at solutions. Dr. Qualls holds a BS and PhD in chemistry from Tennessee State University and Purdue University, respectively. She founded Entropia Consulting, a management consulting firm with expertise in the areas of Leadership and Professional Development to assist individuals and organizations achieve their full potential.
